Fellowship

An important (and fun!) component of a faith-based community is coming together for reasons other than worship. These are opportunities for us to socialize, serve our church and the wider community, and to grow in love and faith.

At SCC, there are many weekly, monthly, and yearly opportunities for fellowship, including:

In the church

  • We enjoy coffee hour each week after services in Bates Hall
  • In November just before Thanksgiving, we gather food and pies to benefit our neighbors through food pantry donations
  • First Saturday in December Christmas fair offers many opportunities to support our crafts, chowder bar and cheese tables
  • SCC Christmas cantata choir is open to any members of the community and the congregation who wish to join with the choir and sing on the 3rd Sunday of December
  • Every Father’s Day weekend SCC’s annual Strawberry Festival, which is run in conjunction with the SSAC arts festival offers opportunities to serve strawberry shortcake and help in the grill tent

In the wider community

  • Cohasset Appalachia Service Project is open to youth and adults from SCC and the south shore with sign-up for the June trip  occurring in September
  • Outreach opportunities include preparing and serving dinner on the second Saturday of each month at Father Bill’s in Quincy
  • Christmas in the City in Boston, along with many more outreach opportunities
  • We support Interfaith Social Services annually, gathering backpacks and school supplies for needy families in the South Shore communities
