Trustees Committee

Our By-Laws state:
The Trustees shall have the care and general management of the church property; shall appoint the Sexton, define his duties and determine his salary. The Trustees shall join with the Finance Committee in considering the advisability of unusual expenditures or under-takings and in advising and sanctioning investments, re-investment and sale of securities.

The Trustees at SCC are responsible for the church facility as well as the parsonage. This team works together to assess and prioritize the many needs of our properties, and ensure timely repairs occur. Over the past several years, the Trustees have been very busy completing the following projects:

• restored the facade of our church!
• replacing all windows throughout the church and parsonage
• repainting the church inside and out
• upgraded the sanctuary sound system
• Replacing the ramp door
• upgraded the sanctuary floor
• replaced the bulkhead and stairs to the old basement

Just as with a private home, there is always a project that needs our attention! If you would like to help us achieve any of these projects, donations may be made and earmarked to a specific project.  Simply make checks/donation payable to Second Congregational Church of Cohasset and write the project name in your memo space. Funds will be utilized as per your designation.

Below are some of the areas/projects that need our attention and your financial support:

• Paint and repair steeple $22,000

The Trustees are also responsible for the oversight of facility rentals. This is accomplished in collaboration with the Church Operational Manager to ensure we can adequately accommodate both our members’ needs and the changing needs in our community.
